Over the past few days, it has been pointed out in several hands-on that the Xbox Series X may have overheating issues. In the meantime, Aaron Greenberg, head of marketing for the Xbox division, spoke up and addressed the issue.
In the past few days, numerous magazines and journalists had the opportunity to lend a hand and take a first look at the Xbox Series X hardware. As part of the relevant hands-on, several journalists pointed out that they are dealing with the hardware of Xbox Series X that may have overheating problems.
Ken Bogard from Jeux Video praised the console’s quiet operation, but pointed out that the Xbox Series X can be compared to “almost like a fireplace shaft. You can heat up your flat with it” when the console is in operation.
In order to avoid any rumors in the first place, the well-known blogger of The Verge, Tom Warren, also noted that there was no heat problem.
In the meantime, Aaron Greenberg, who is responsible for marketing for the Xbox division at Microsoft, also spoke up about the heat development. According to Greenberg, we don’t have to worry about this because the heat from the Xbox Series X is ultimately comparable to that of the Xbox One X.
“The console will output system heat out of the exhaust, just as any other console will,” says Greenberg. “Our engineering team confirmed the heat leaving the console is not significantly different than Xbox One X. This matches my experience at home quiet, fast & impressive power for the size.”
The Xbox Series X will be released on November 10, 2020, and will be available for $499. In addition, Microsoft is sending the Xbox Series S into the race on the same day, which was equipped with hardware that was tailored to display games in 1080p to 1440p and is delivered without an optical drive. The price of the Xbox Series S will be $299.
