Microsoft drops Xbox One price to $249. Recently, the company reduced the price of its game console from $349 to $299, then from $299 to $279, and the price goes down again from $279 to $249. The new price cut on the popular console appears days before the new slimmer Xbox One S becomes available.
If you’re in the market for a new game console, you can now snag the 500GB model of Xbox One for only $249. The bundle also includes four games like Quantum Break, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Forza Motorsports 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Rare Replay.
Although, we’ve seen a number of price drop with an expiring date, the latest price drop suggests that Microsoft is simply trying to get rid of inventory before Xbox One S launches on August 2nd.
The Xbox One S has a 40 percent smaller design console, and it can stand vertically. In addition, the power supply is built into the console, so no power brick laying around. While the hardware remains virtually the same, there are other tweaks, such as 4K resolution support for video, and HDR for select games, and it also comes with the new improved wireless controller.
Furthermore, the company is currently developing another console, which currently we know as Xbox “Scorpio”, which will launch in 2017, and it will feature updated hardware.
Now seeing the Xbox One S and Scorpio launching next year, it’s not difficult to think that Microsoft may be gearing up to stop production of the original Xbox One soon.
