Microsoft will discontinue the development and support for several of its MSN apps in a few months, and the company is killing the Photosynth app for all supported platforms. According to the company, Photosynth is being pulled from its respective stores and it’s also losing support immediately.
If you have the app already installed in your handset, you can still use it, but Microsoft warns that you can continue use the app at your own risk, as there is no more support available. The company recommends to upload existing panoramas to Photosynth.net, because this service isn’t going away, and users can easily share or set each panorama as private.
The software giant is also retiring three of its new MSN apps, formerly known as Bing apps. MSN Travel and MSN Food & Drink for Windows, iOS, and Android are set to be discontinued on September 28th, while MSN Health & Fitness for all the supported platforms will disappear on November 1st.
Microsoft explains that like any other company, it has to evaluate its business and adjust its focus on products that bring the most value to customers. The company will continue its support for the rest of its MSN apps, including News, Weather, Money, and Sport. These apps will be available for users when Windows 10 launches on July 29th, and they will remain cross platform.
