Anyone upgrading or purchasing a new Windows 8 PC doesn’t say it would be the only Windows 8 device around the house, many will have a mix of desktops, laptops and/or tablets. Knowing this a question arises: What happens when someone buys a Windows Store app, do they have to re-buy the app for every device? The answer is NO!

Once someone installs a Windows 8 app from the Store, that person owns it and it is for that person only to install on up to five different PCs, whether it is a paid or free app in Windows 8 or Windows RT. You can go to Your apps in the Store to install, review and see which apps are currently installed on that particular machine. Here are the steps to do this:

Instructions

  1. Go to the Windows Store and sign-in with a Microsoft account.

  2. Right-click anywhere or tap to bring the app commands, and click Your apps.

  3. A list of apps will appeared, by default they are filtered by “Apps not installed in your PC”, choose the ones you want to include and run in your computer, and then simply click or tap Install — From Your apps, you can also view all apps and apps installed in other PCs.
