With the big buzz going around Google+ more-and-more websites are implementing the Google +1 button in their sites. And if you like to +1 stuff but also you like to keep your information private, here is a good tip.
Did you know that you can personalize which information will appear of you on non-Google sites when using the Plus One button?
By default if you leave the feature enabled, every time you +1 something, the +1 and other profile information is used by Google to personalize your content and ads on non-Google websites, including applications and other clients. (Before I continue, you should also know that according to the company, by enabling this feature they do not share your information or your friends’ information with third-party websites).
Now you to personalize this feature, you can either leave it enabled or you can disable it to keep your information private. When you disable Google +1 on non-Google sites, you will prevent the giant of search to use your +1’s and other profile information to personalize content or ads on non-Google sites, and you will no longer see Google Plus One recommendation from people you know when you land in any of those websites.
To personalize Google +1 on non-Google sites do the following:
Sign in to your Google+ account, go to your profile menu and select Account settings.
Then click Google+ in the left menu, scroll-down to Google +1 section and click the Edit link.
Here just choose Disable and click the Save button to finish
Once you change the setting, the next time you Google +1 something, only the vote will be visible to others and nothing else.
