iOS 14.7 is now available to download, and updates include support for the MagSafe battery pack.

It’s important to note that if you plan to use the new MagSafe battery pack, you’ll still need an iPhone 12 for the accessory, not just iOS 14.7. The battery pack will cost you $99 and charges your phone by sticking it to the back of the device.

iOS 14.7 also patches a bug that would allow an attacker to take over your phone remotely using Wi-Fi.

This is the latest software update Apple has released this year ahead of the highly anticipated iOS 15 coming this fall. At its Worldwide Developer Conference in June, Apple said that iOS 15 would include an update to FaceTime, adding Portrait Mode, Shareplay and screen sharing, and Messages updates, with a new design and a Shared With You feature.

Other recent updates, such as iOS 14.5 and iOS 14.6, have been packed with many more features and additions than the 14.7 update. For example, in iOS 14.5, we saw updates like the App Tracking Transparency feature, new Siri voices, the option to choose a third-party music player app as your default music player, the ability to unlock your phone while wearing a face mask, and more.

Other recent updates, such as iOS 14.5 and iOS 14.6, have been packed with many more features and additions than the 14.7 update.

The iOS 14.6 update added Apple Card Family support, the ability to unlock your phone using Voice Control, and some minor improvements to Apple AirTags.
