View your Google Calendar alongside your Outlook calendar by subscribing to your own Google Calendar in Outlook. Or, import events from Google Calendar into Outlook, but the two calendars will not sync following updates.

Subscribe to Your Google Calendar

Setting up an iCal subscription ensures that the copy of your Google Calendar in Outlook is current.

Instructions in this article apply to Outlook 2019, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2013, and Outlook for Microsoft 365.

  • Log in to your Google Calendar.
  • In the left pane, select My Calendars to expand the list.
  • Point to the calendar you want to add to Outlook, select the three dots that appear to the right of the calendar name, then choose Settings and sharing.
  • In the Integrate Calendar section, right-click the URL under Public URL to this calendar and select Copy.
  • Open Outlook, go to the File tab, and select Info.
  • Select Account Settings > Account Settings.
  • In the Account Settings dialog box, select the Internet Calendars tab.
  • Select New.
  • Press Ctrl+V to paste the address you copied from your Google Calendar account, then select Add.
  • In the Subscription Options dialog box, enter the name of the calendar in the Folder Name text box, then select OK.
  • In the Account Settings dialog box, select Close.

Import Events From Google Calendar Into Outlook

If you want events currently listed in your Google Calendar account without updates, import it into Outlook.

Log in to your Google Calendar.

In the left pane, select My Calendars to expand the list.

Point to the calendar you want to add to Outlook, select the three dots that appear to the right of the calendar name, then choose Settings and sharing.

In the Integrate Calendar section, right-click the URL under Public URL to this calendar and select Copy. 

Open Outlook, go to the File tab, and select Info.

Select Account Settings > Account Settings.

In the Account Settings dialog box, select the Internet Calendars tab.

Select New.

Press Ctrl+V to paste the address you copied from your Google Calendar account, then select Add.

In the Subscription Options dialog box, enter the name of the calendar in the Folder Name text box, then select OK.

In the Account Settings dialog box, select Close.

  • Log into your Google Calendar account.
  • Select the Settings icon and choose Settings.
  • In the left pane, select Import & Export.
  • Select Export and choose the Export button. A ZIP file downloads to your computer.
  • Open Windows File Explorer, highlight the downloaded file, then select Extract All.
  • Open Outlook and go to the File tab.
  • Select Open & Export > Import/Export to start the Import and Export Wizard.
  • Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file, then choose Next.
  • Browse to the folder where you stored the extracted file, select the file that ends with gmail.com, then choose OK.
  • Select Import.
  • Your Google Calendar events appear in Outlook.

Log into your Google Calendar account.

Select the Settings icon and choose Settings.

In the left pane, select Import & Export.

Select Export and choose the Export button. A ZIP file downloads to your computer.

Open Windows File Explorer, highlight the downloaded file, then select Extract All.

Open Outlook and go to the File tab.

Select Open & Export > Import/Export to start the Import and Export Wizard.

Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file, then choose Next.

Browse to the folder where you stored the extracted file, select the file that ends with gmail.com, then choose OK.

Select Import.

Your Google Calendar events appear in Outlook.
