I may not be a fan of the Unity desktop, but the Quicklist feature is something that I find it really useful. It might only be applicable to the Unity desktop, but with a little tweak, you can get your favorite quicklist to work in Gnome Shell too. Here’s how it works.
The Quicklists Gnome Shell extension is a little plug in that you can activate to implement quicklists on your Gnome Shell desktop.
To get started, you just have to visit this page and click the On/Off button.
A message box will popup to ask if you want to install the extension. Click OK. That’s it.
If you want to be doubly sure that the extension is activated and running, press “Alt + F2” to start the Run dialog and type ‘r’ (without the quotes) and press Enter. This will restart Gnome Shell and activate the extension.
To see the quicklist in action, simply go to the Activity overview (move your mouse cursor to the left top corner of the screen) and right click on any of the quicklist enabled app icon.
