Microsoft Edge extensions are small software programs that integrate with Edge to make surfing the internet easier, safer, and more productive. Here’s a look at finding and installing Edge extensions to personalize and enhance your web browsing experience.

Explore Edge Extensions

Extensions vary in purpose and usefulness. Some extensions do only one thing, such as block pop-up ads. These types of extensions work behind the scenes.

The information in this article applies to the new Microsoft Edge Chromium-based browser for Windows 10 in addition to the legacy Edge browser.

Other extensions translate between languages, manage web passwords, or add quick access to Microsoft Office Online products. Some extensions facilitate online shopping or help with grammar and spelling.

Extensions for the new Microsoft Edge Chromium-based browser are available from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store. Legacy Edge extensions are available from the online Microsoft Store.

Here’s how to browse the available extensions for Microsoft Edge:

  • Go to the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store.
  • For the legacy Edge, go to the online Microsoft Store and search for Edge extensions.
