Before You Upgrade to Windows 11

There is no direct way for Windows 8 computers to upgrade to Windows 11: You have to upgrade your computer to Windows 10 first. Fortunately, this process is free to Windows 8 users.

How to Upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10 and Then to Windows 11

  • Download Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store by clicking Download tool now.
  • After the tool downloads, open the file.
  • A window appears asking if you want make changes to the computer. Select Yes.
  • Windows 10 Setup will appear to mark the beginning of the installation process. Click Accept to accept the terms and service.

  • In the next window, select Upgrade this PC now, then click Next. It will take several minutes to upgrade to Windows 10.

  • In the bottom search bar, type in Windows Update Setting and click the first entry.
  • Click Windows Updates and check if Windows 11 is available to download.
  • Once the Windows 11 update file has been downloaded, find it on your drive and double-click the file to begin the installation. It’s most likely in the Download folder.
  • Agree to the License terms and follow the installation prompts as they appear.
