- Go to Start > Settings > Devices. Select Mouse from the left navigation pane and choose Additional mouse options.Choose the Pointer Options tab and deselect Enhance pointer precision, then choose Apply.
How to Turn Off Mouse Acceleration
If you’re not happy with how this default setting is impacting your computer use, follow the steps below to turn it off.
- Click the Start button.
- Click Settings.
- In Windows Settings, click Devices.
- In the Bluetooth & other devices window, click Mouse in the left navigation pane.
- In the Mouse window, click Additional mouse options in the right navigation pane.
- In the Mouse Properties window, click the Pointer Options tab.
- Deselect Enhance pointer precision.
- Click Apply.
If you find that you don’t like the way your mouse moves once you have deselected this setting, you can always turn it back on by following the same steps and selecting it again.

Enhance Pointer Precision automatically changes the speed at which your onscreen pointer moves based on the speed you are moving the mouse. In Windows 10, the Enhance Pointer Precision feature is set to control mouse acceleration by default.
However, this automated speed calculation by Windows 10 can sometimes mean your pointer screams by something it shouldn’t or doesn’t get to something as quickly as you’d like. Gamers, in particular, can experience performance issues because of this feature even when using the best wireless mouse on the market.
While you can slow your mouse down or speed it up using Windows 10 settings, the Enhance Pointer Precision feature can override those settings and still make using your mouse frustrating.
